Featuring a beautiful rare antique bohemian style German 835 silver Trachtenkette Goiter necklace adorned with a luminous genuine Garnet gemstone set in a decorative 835 setting. Necklace measures approximately 17 inches around at 25.8 grams respectively. In excellent antique condition with a a functional clasp, minimal wear with components intact and accounted for. Made in the early 20th century Goiter necklaces were originally made to hide evidence of Goiter linked to Iodine deficiencies. These necklaces fell out of fashion in the 1930s and now are a staple to Austrian and German traditional clothing. Just beautiful!
