Featuring a beautiful Pietra Dura antique floral motif 800 silver brooch adorned with mosaic stones seamlessly set together set in a decorative sterling filigree setting. Brooch measures approximately 1.5 inches long at 12.94 grams respectively. This beautiful handcrafted piece is in excellent condition with a functional clasp, a nice patina with all components intact. Stamped 800 hallmarked ITALY on the reverse.
Pietra Dura” means in Italian: “hard stone”.
The art of inlay work goes back to the 16th century, with precisely adapted fittings being laid, glued and sanded to a mirror-like finish
