The Zuni tribe, now located in north western New Mexico, was the second Native American tribe to learn Mexican silversmithing techniques.
Their artisans refined the Navajo cluster work that evolved into more intricate styles such as petit point and needlepoint. Zuni produced petit point starting around 1920-1930, tiny round, oval, rectangular, square and pear shaped hand cut by the Zuni artist. Zuni petit point is unique to the Zuni tribe and is not made anywhere else in the world. Truly spectacular!!!
