Late Victorian antique celluloid faux tortoise shell headdress comb with Art Nouveau gilded gold metal and carved coral cameo
Featuring a beautiful antique late Victorian Era faux tortoise shell celluloid pompadour style hair comb. Adorned with Art Nouveau scrolled gold metal lotus flowers and lilies with two round coral cabochons and a carved cameo coral center stone. The focal cameo measures 33mm by 20mm respectively, the two round coral stones measure approximately 17mm in diameter. The entire comb measures 4 inches by 3 inches and is in good antique condition with one side of comb broken off, not surprising considering the age. The late Victorian Era gave way to Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and more so I would date this the later half of the 19th century 1880s-1900s. A beautiful piece!
